Please Note:
Due to numerous complaints regarding loose domestic animals and owners not cleaning up after their dogs while walking them, the Village Board of Trustees has directed the Sheridan Police Department to continue their enforcement of the Village ordinances regarding dogs/cats running at large, and owners not cleaning up after their dogs.
Any dog or cat running loose in town will be picked up and housed for three days, and if not claimed, be put to sleep. If the animal is claimed, the owner will be responsible for all fees incurred, plus prosecution for local ordinance violations.
Village Ordinance also requires that all dogs and cats be registered annually with the Sheridan Police Department. This registering will also assist the return of your pet in the event the animal gets loose. The cost to for registration is $10.00 per dog and $5.00 per cat.
If your animal does get loose, notify the Sheridan Police Department right away and we will assist in locating your pet.
